The previous route from the Large Oak Flat Road leads downhill from Crane Flat in to the Tuolumne Grove of Large Trees, a cluster of approximately 25 sequoias. A self-led character trail guides site visitors.

Stop 4: El Capitan

World-renowned for mountain climbing, BASE jumping, along with other frightening activities, El Capitan may be the highest high cliff within the valley. Watch the climbers from the distance for any couple of minutes, or spend per week adhering towards the carefully textured granite.

Finish: Yosemite Village

Directions:

Continue along Large Oak Flat Road for any couple of miles.

Stop 1: Yosemite Falls

At 1,430 ft, Yosemite Falls may be the highest waterfall in The United States. Have a short walk towards the lower falls or attempt the all-day hike towards the upper falls for any rewarding view.

Stop 2: Half Dome

Directions:

From Yosemite Village, go ahead and take shuttle towards the trailhead.

Recommended time only at that stop: twenty minutes

Probably the most famous sights within the valley, Half Dome’s unique shape soars over 1300 ft in the valley floor. Take a few days to climb the 8.5 mile trail and cable climb to Half Dome’s top or simply photograph it in the bottom.

Stop 3: Merced Grove

From previous stop: forty-five minutes / 2 mi (3.2 km)

Directions:

Park in the trailhead and hike directly into Merced Grove.

Recommended time only at that stop: twenty minutes

The Merced Grove is among three sequoia groves in Yosemite Park. Merced may be the only grove around the block that’s not accessible by vehicle. A satisfying two-mile hike leads the traveler towards the grove of approximately 20 trees.

Finish: Large Oak Flat Station
