Vaping and Why It’s SERIOUSLY Better than Smoking
Search on the ‘vaping’ online and you might think that it’s risky. It’s really not, as long as you are responsible enough to purchase a vaporizer or e-cigarette from a quality supplier. E-cigarettes are immediately less harmful than smoking since they have zero tobacco.
We are all aware that burnt tobacco, when inhaled or chewed, is incredibly damaging to health. If you eliminate the tobacco and the combustion, you eliminate the associated risk. But let’s be honest: vaping is not completely harmless, but what is? The most important point here is, there is proof that vaping is way safer for your health compared to smoking.
In England, a good number of health organisations are in agreement in terms of encouraging smokers to jump ship and try vaping. Just recently, organisations like the Royal College of General Practitioners and the British Medical Association have joined the call for smokers to view e-cigarettes as a good alternative.
While e-cigarettes are still prohibited in several countries, the trend is slowly changing. Just a year ago, New Zealand did a complete turnaround of its position on vaping, and now, their policies are more inclined to promote the practice as an alternative to smoking. In the same manner, Canada is in the process of legalizing e-cigarettes, though details of this regulatory framework are still being studied.
A key reason for caution in some countries is the fear that vaping will become a path to smoking, particularly in youngsters. No evidence can prove that trying an e-cigarette will eventually lead to a smoking habit, and plenty other factors can shed light on this , like the well-known fact that tobacco is widely available.
In 2017, results of the world’s biggest study on young people and vaping – a project participated in by more than 60,000 teenagers – were published. It found that even as experimentation with vaping was happening, constant use by youngsters who had never tried smoking stayed incredibly low, at below 1%. In the meantime, youth smoking rates have been shown to decline at a rapid pace. If vaping were really a cause for smoking, these trends would have run on reverse.
So, how should the average smoker take all this misinformation about the e-cigarettes posing certain risks? As a smoker, your best move as far as protecting your health and the health of those around you, is to kick the habit. If you want to vape if only to stop smoking, that’s wonderful, and no one has a right to criticize you for such a decision. Because no matter what the critics say (and as we have mentioned), vaping is automatically better than smoking because it has no tobacco in the first place.
